CODE OF CONDUCT

The Byron Bay Pickleball Club Inc. (BBPC) is dedicated to promoting pickleball in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, and committed to providing a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all members, guests and participants.

This Code of Conduct applies to all members, committee members, coaches, officials, volunteers, and guests participating in any BBPC activity, whether at a club venue, an affiliated event, or online.

Members not adhering to the standards outlined in this Code may be subject to disciplinary action under Clause 11 of the BBPC Constitution. Sanctions may include a formal warning, suspension, or cancellation of membership, depending on the severity and nature of the breach.

2. Play with good sportsmanship

5. Wait your turn

3. No abuse or rude behaviour

4. Be honest and fair

Treat all players, partners, opponents and spectators with courtesy at all times - no exceptions.

Win or lose - no negativity, no blaming, no bad attitude. Tap paddles and say thanks after every game.

No swearing, yelling, intimidation or aggressive behaviour. This will not be tolerated.

Make fair line calls. If unsure or too close to call, the ball is IN. Play with integrity.

Respect the rotation system. When others are waiting, finish your game and rotate off promptly.

10. Respect hosts, officials and organisers

No "court hogging". Everyone gets a go - this is a community club.

Call the score clearly and ensure all players are ready before serving.

Call "ball on court", avoid reckless shots, and be aware of others on and around the court.

Encourage beginners. Be welcoming. Everyone was new once.

Follow instructions and event/session rules. Any disputes, replay the point or calmly involve a host or organiser.
